July Adventures

We had some fun adventures in the month of July. From July 18th-19th, we were at our ward camp out. I haven't been camping for 4 years so it felt good to be in the great outdoors again. :) We had a bbq dinner and enjoyed cobbler and ice cream for dessert. We did something that I thought was very interesting: couples speed dating. It's where we switch every 3 minutes to get to know each couple. It was a great way to get more connected with our ward. Later, we heard sounds coming from the bushes. I was actually scared for a moment, because it was bear sounds. I grabbed onto Collin's arm thinking there was a bear. Come to find out it was a show the bishop decided to put on where he was a bear hunter. The sounds that came from the bushes was actually a recording. It was pretty entertaining to see the bishop "catch" a bear. We spent the rest of the night playing games until we grew tired. There was a couple in our ward that let us borrow their tent and sleeping bags so we slept in those.

The next day, we packed our stuff and ate breakfast. We really enjoyed great company, food, and activities. I really felt like our ward grew closer together. I really like our ward. Collin and I actually seriously thought about moving somewhere else in Provo, but now, I am glad that we stayed. During this past year, I have really felt the spirit in our ward. There are so many people that are willing to serve and get to know you.

From the 24th-26th, we received a wonderful visit from my friends Chelsea and Rikke. They came to visit us from Las Vegas to go to their friend's wedding. I met Chelsea and Rikke at BYU Idaho. Chelsea and I were roommates for 2 semesters. We got a surprise visit by my friend Stephanie and her parents. It was so great to have my best friends all together again. It felt almost like a reunion. :)

We made a meatloaf dinner for them and went to their friend Alexis' bachelorette gathering at Jamba Juice. The next day, Collin and I went to work while Chelsea and Rikke went to the wedding. By evening, we went to Olive Garden for dinner and ended our day with a fun game night.

I loved having my friends stay with me in Utah. It brought back wonderful memories that we have had at BYU Idaho. I'll admit, I do miss all the fun times I had there. Someday, I would love to visit Rexburg to see old friends and the campus again. Below are pictures of my bestie Chelsea and I. She is such a cute girl and has always been there for me.
