Spring Break and Much More

Now it's time for..... Our latest blog post!! (Yay!) Let's just say... I always look forward to April. There are so many excited things that always seem to happen this month.

I have been working and Collin just finished his classes for the semester! :) Now it's just the matter of finishing those finals... But knowing my hubby, he will do well and finish strong. The kids in the class that I work with are getting ready to go to kindergarten next year! It's crazy to think about. It feels like just yesterday I just met them! It hit me that I will miss these kids dearly. They are such a joy and are so much fun. :)

About a few weeks ago, we got the opportunity to watch General Conference with family. Let's just say... the cinnamon rolls went really quickly!

Out of all the talks that were heard, Elder Neil A. Andersen's talk on "Spiritual Whirlwinds" stood out to me a lot! I really needed to hear his message about being strong during hard times. I love how he says to never let anything drag you down and to stand as disciples of Jesus Christ. I know that I have gone through my share of trials, but no matter what, I have made it through the storm. Christ does hear our cries and He will come to you for aid. I know now that I am strong, because I chose the gospel over all.

I still remember the day when I converted into the church still today and it has already been 7 years!! I always like to call it my "conversary" which happened on April 7th. I am so happy I made this decision to be a part of an amazing church that is peaceful and true. I still feel clean and pure even today. It has been a true blessing in my life. Here are some pictures from my baptism 7 years ago.

I was 18 when I finally realized that this was the path I needed to take. It was truly a beautiful day in which I will never forget.

Last week, I was on spring break, so I had a week off of work. Because Collin was still enrolled in school at BYU, we didn't go anywhere exciting, however, I simply found productive things to do with my time. I decided that while I was taking care of things around the house that I would make a spring wreath to hang on our front door. So I went to Michael's and bought some crafts to put together my wreath. It took me a few days, but here is how it looks.

I have always wanted to make a wreath with interwoven burlap. I didn't think I could pull it off. Of course with a little help from youtube, I found a tutorial that helped me learn how to wrap the burlap around the wire of the wreath. If interested, you can look on this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4G52mNW92k. Now I can celebrate spring. :)

As surprising as this may sound, I got my haircut! I decided that I was looking for a change. So I did something really drastic... to cut my hair short (or at least shorter... haha.) Here is the before and after shot of my hair.

I think I cut off at least 6 inches. I will admit I was really nervous about cutting my hair short. I haven't had short hair since I was probably 11 years old. I wasn't sure how I was going to look. But I am really glad I decided to do this. It's kind of a fresh, almost summer kind of look. :)

On that same day, I did another photo shoot with my sister Kelsey and her husband Jordan. As I may have mentioned in one of my blogs, they are expecting their first! Even more news, they are graduating together in about a week!! :) We went around Provo to find good spots to take pictures. Here is a first look at one of their graduation photos.

They are so sweet and adorable. :) I can't believe they are both almost finished at BYU! We will miss them terribly next year, but I know they will do amazing out there in the real world! I love them both.

The following day, my sister and I went to our relief society activity. We got to make Easter crafts. I don't know why I get so excited when I hear the word, "crafts," but I do. I love getting a chance to show my creativity. :) I made an Easter egg decoration which I now hang on my window.

Later on, I drove to Salt Lake City to pick up my best friend, Stephanie from the airport where she was dropped off by a shuttle. I loved being able to spend time with her again! She served a mission in the Provo area, so I rarely got to see her at all. We got to get a Jumba Juice together. I LOVE Jamba Juice and have not gone a long time. I dropped her off in Orem where she was staying with her mission mom for a few days. She had just come home from school at BYU Idaho. Stephanie has always been a true friend to me. That's why I hope in the future, we will spend more time together and have moments like these.

Last Sunday, Collin and I both gave talks in our ward. We got to talk about when a prophet speaks. I always get nervous before getting up in front of people. Which is why I am glad we kept praying that all would go well with our talks. We didn't hear each other speak until that day. I was really amazed by Collin's talk! Of course, I am always amazed by him. :)

Yep.... this was my spring break. It's really amazing how much stuff you can find to do with your time when you don't go to any place exotic. Haha. We are looking forward to Easter this coming weekend. I am excited to spend it with family. I always know that the Savior is with me, because of the reassurance of the Holy Ghost.
