Later, we went to the MoTab Christmas Concert held inside the conference center. Collin's brother Miles and his girlfriend joined us for what would be a memorable night. We managed to get great seats near the stage.
The set was incredible! They made the old town of London and it looked so realistic. It was exciting to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir come out along with Henry B. Eyring!
Opera singer Deborah Voight and actor John Rhys-Davies starred in this year's Christmas concert. There were dance performers that were dressed from the 1800's. I was entertained when I saw them. The choir sang beautifully the whole time we were there. They each have so much talent and soul to their voices. Deborah, the opera singer, really completed the choir with her angelic voice. I was especially excited to see John Rhys-Davies. Collin and I knew him from Indiana Jones as Sallaah and The Lord of the Rings as Gimli. He has really great stage presence and one of the most charismatic actors I know.
One thing that stood out to me the most from the concert was when John Rhys-Davies tells the story of Charles Dickens and when he got his first inspiration to write his famous novel, "A Christmas Carol." Davies played the ghost of Christmas present who taught Charles Dickens an important lesson from his novel. By doing so, they literally fly over the audience, just like in the book. It inspired Dickens to learn about the true meaning of Christmas and to treasure it once a year. The scene was unexpected, yet pretty incredible.
I was blown away and felt the spirit so strongly by the time the performance was over. I can't wait until it airs on PBS. :) It is definitely worth it to see an unbelievable performance such as a MoTab concert. It was even more memorable to have Miles and his girlfriend Mikaela come join us.
A special thanks to Trulie Cottman for sending us the tickets. Truly a delightful treat. :)
To Be Continued....
