Our House!

We now have our own house! We have lived in it for about 2 months now and so far we really like it. We love the overall location, more space, and how we instantly just feel right at home.

We have talked about buying a house for a while in Texas. We decided to save up some money during the first couple years we were living in Austin. By the time we had enough, we started looking for houses around the Austin area by this year. We knew that because houses close so fast here in the Austin area that we had to start looking soon. More and more people want to live in Austin and the housing price range is considerably cheap.

We found a really good realtor who was able to help us find our home. We gave him a price range and he showed us a lot of listings around the area. We wanted to make sure that our house was overall in a good location with great schools and neighbors. It didn't take us long until we found our house. We found some houses that were really good, but missing some qualities that we were looking for. We made an offer on the house along with a letter about us. I was certain our offer was not going to be accepted, because there were 4 or 5 other people who made an offer on the house. Some that were higher than ours. To our surprise, our realtor called us and said that our offer had been accepted! We couldn't believe it and were just so excited. Our realtor told us that because we mentioned that we have a rescue dog that's what got us in. The person that lived in the house before us has a dog, so she loved hearing about our story.

After signing the paperwork and inspections, we began preparations for moving into our house. I was glad that we were only moving 15 minutes away, so the move was overall an easy process. It also didn't take too long for us to settle in. I was glad that we had time to clean out our apartment. Our contract ended in May and we moved in early April. I was glad I was able to get through the move, especially with being pregnant and not feeling the best during my first trimester.

Now we are mostly settled in. Our new place is so nice. It's an older home that was built in 1984. It is a one-story house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. This will be perfect when we grow our family. We have our master bedroom, baby's room, and guest room. Anyone who wants to visit the Austin area is more than welcome to stay at our place. ;) I love living in a place where we have a garage and a spacious backyard. Chloe has lots of fun playing in it and I can't wait to see our kids play around outside someday. The grass gets so long in our backyard. I see it as a good place to have an Easter egg hunt. My favorite features in the house are the kitchen and living room. I just love the overall look and how much space there is.

Since we moved further down to Pflugerville, we are now in a different ward. We have really enjoyed it so far. People there are nice and so welcoming. They are also willing to help if we need it. We do miss our old ward in Austin, but the good news is we are still in the same stake. We can still see our old friends as well as make new friends. Our neighbors are friendly and down-to-earth. They have been so helpful to us during our move. We live in a quiet neighborhood, so it feels peaceful and calm, especially at night.

We have had such a great experience living in our house. There is a lot more work to do when owning a house, but it's worth it in the end. I can't wait to grow our family in this house along with loving memories.

Here are some pictures of the inside of our house.

We got a microwave to go above our stove

Part of the future baby's room.

Fireplace in our living room. This maybe my favorite feature in this room.

Master bedroom. Our bedding matches the color of the walls perfectly! We also decided to add maroon drapes to go along with the decorating.

The other side of our living room. We got a new sectional couch to go with it.

Our backyard. We like the little bench that was placed in it.

Our shed. There is so much space in our yard!
