Comparison to the real Doctor McNinja. Collin pulled it off really well!
At the Comic Con Convention
Me as Carmen Sandiego
Everyone goes after Carmen Sandiego, but she always somehow escapes in the end...
This year's Comic Con was amazing and here is our story to prove it. :)
We went all three days at Comic Con from January 29th-31st. On Thursday, I picked Collin up from work to get ready for Comic Con. From there, we took the Frontrunner to Salt Lake and arrived at the Energy Solutions Center where Comic Con was held. We saw so many cool things, like a replica of the jeep from the first Jurassic Park movie and lego displays. The biggest highlight of Thursday was meeting Jim Cummings. He is a legend! He is a voice actor who played Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Darkwing Duck. He also has done numerous voices for Disney and other animated movies such as Aladdin, The Lion King, Anastasia, and The Princess and the Frog. As a child, I loved all the voices he played, so meeting him was an honor. He was so outgoing and down to earth. I think it was worth paying $10 to get a picture with him. ;)
Our second highlight of Friday was the Fan X voice acting panel. Collin mentioned that he really wanted to go to it and told me that it featured the voice actors Rob Paulsen, Jess Harnell, and, of course, Jim Cummings. Rob Paulsen was the voice of Yakko from Animaniacs and Pinky from Pinky and the Brain. Jess Harnell was the voice of Wakko from Animaniacs. Collin said that they were going to read from a Harry Potter script using their various voices of the characters they have played. I immediately got excited! Listening to all their voices brought back good memories from when I was a child. Plus, they were hilarious! I had never laughed so hard in all my life.

Here are other pictures from Thursday:
Oh you know... just a picture with some Legend of Korra characters. :)
Starlord from Guardians of the Galaxy
The Lord of the Rings Legos... That's AWESOME!!!
For those that are Avengers fans, you will probably recognize this as the turbine that Iron Man tries to fix. I thought it was a neat picture, so I had to post it. :)
The Dalek
Tardis
On Friday, I waited for Collin to back from one of his classes, than we headed to the train station towards Salt Lake. This time, we stayed for the whole day and what a fantastic day it was! It was hard to say what was the biggest highlight of Friday, but I will go ahead and list our top two. We got to meet Billie Piper and get a professional picture with her!! It was a such a great feeling! Billie Piper is best known as Rose Tyler, who was the Doctor's companion in the BBC series, Doctor Who from 2005-2006. We love Doctor Who, so I guess that makes us Whovians. ;) Collin said that getting a picture with Billie Piper was my early birthday present from him. :) He was so sweet to do this for me. Meeting Billie Piper and getting a picture with her was well worth the $50 that he spent. She is such a warm and fuzzy kind of person and has the cutest British accent ever! I told her that getting a picture with her was my birthday present. After we took the picture, she asked me when my birthday was and told me happy birthday. I couldn't stop smiling. She is a great actress and such a smiley, bubbly person in real life.
We waited almost two hours in line to meet her, but it was not at all a waste of time. It was well worth the wait. While waiting in line, I have to say that I have never seen so many people dressed as the tardis or daleks in all my life! If you don't know what either of those are, here are some images. :)

The voice actors at their panel
By the end of the night, we went to a creative writing panel. Collin really likes writing stories. He's actually written a few himself that are really good. It's amazing how people can create cool stories just by using their imaginations.
Here are the pictures from Friday:
Yep... That's my Doctor McNinja...
There is an actual person dressed up like this dinosaur. It looked so realistic!
"May the force be with you."
Wreck-it Ralph and the Glitch
I found Waldo!!!
More Star Wars stuff. Gotta love Boba Fett
The Joker and Harley Quinn
We found a few Disney princesses and super hero princesses? :)
More Star Wars. Chewy!!!
Bonnie and Chica from the horror game "Five Nights at Freddy's." I've played this game before and, no joke, it is terrifying. Their costumes were pretty creative.
Carl Fredrickson and Russell from the movie "Up." Their costumes were awesome!
On Saturday, we got up early at 7:30 to be at the train station on time. Since it was the last day of Comic Con and a Saturday, it became a little more crowded than usual. We learned from last September that you should always show up early to a panel or a photo opp. We decided to go to the Avatar panel. There are people there who talk about the Nickelodeon animated TV shows "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and the newest show called "The Legend of Korra." We are both Avatar fans so we made time to attend this panel. It was neat to hear what people had to say about their favorite characters, seasons, etc.
To me, the biggest highlight of Saturday was meeting Studio C and getting their autographs. Studio C is a sketch comedy show that comes on BYUtv. They come up with some funny and clever sketches. There are ten members and they all attend or once attended BYU. We came in line early so we could get to their booth sooner. While we were waiting, a few of the Studio C cast members appeared from upstairs behind the glass windows. A few of us got excited and waved at them. They were so fascinated by the crowd and took videos and pictures of us.
After waiting for about an hour and a half, it was our turn to go up and meet Studio C. My heart was racing. I was nervous and excited at the same time. I never know what to say to a famous person. When I came up to meet them, they were immediately excited to see that I was dressed as Carmen Sandiego. One of them yelled out, "Carmen Sandiego!!" and everyone turned towards my direction. It was so cool, I wasn't used to getting so much attention, especially from Studio C! My personal favorite was Mallory's reaction. (She's one of the members from Studio C.) She asked me, "Are you Carmen Sandiego?" I said yes, and with excitement, she said, "Yes! I knew it!" Collin and I just turned to each other and laughed. We loved all of their reactions. They are all so fun and easy to talk to. I couldn't get a picture with them, but I got a picture with me and their autographs. :)

I was one happy girl. :)
Here are some more pics from the rest of our day:
So cute! Qui Gon Jinn and a little ewok. :)
Those mean trolls. They were making fun of me, so Collin decided to try to fight them off. :)
I found the most extraordinary thing the world will ever know... the magic school bus.
The Magnificent, Marvelous, Mad Madam Mim!
That was a really legit Thor costume
Mr. Hagrid, can you tell me where I can find Platform 9 3/4?
The Tardis from Doctor Who. It looks like I'm checking out Doctor McNinja. ;)
Those weeping angels... We literally can't keep our eyes off them.
Howdy, howdy there Woody!
Edward Scissorhands! I'd totally let him give me a haircut. :)
Aww... The Avatar gang, together again. :)
Darth Vader unmasked. AKA Anakin Skywalker
Fly away Quail Man! I loved Doug as a kid. :)
The Batman villans: Two Face, Poison Ivy, The Scarecrow, and the Riddler
The Guardians of the Galaxy
More characters from "Five Nights at Freddy's." This time, Foxy joined the party.
We ended the night by going to my Sister-in-law Mikaela's birthday party which was on the 31st. We had so much fun spending time with them and playing games. I was glad we got to go to celebrate her big day. She is awesome! :)
Well there you have it folks! We had a blast at this year's Comic Con. Last year, I remember feeling tired and grumpy from walking around and standing in long lines. This year, my attitude completely changed, because of all the neat stuff we had to do. Don't get me wrong, last year was fun, but this one was even better. I realized, nerds really do have all the fun. Best of all, we didn't have to wait in a long line to get in. They mail you wrist bands so that you don't have to wait in a long line to get in, which was super nice. I'm so glad we got to dress up this year. It's way more fun when you wear a costume. You feel like a celebrity, because everywhere you go, someone wants to take your picture or talk to you. We are already talking about what we are going to be for next year's Comic Con. :) It went by way too fast. We didn't want it to end. Our hope is that we can go next year. It depends on where life takes us. For now we are having fun and "dancing through life." :)
