Birthday and Valentine's Day: Oh How I Love February. :)

Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
What's happening with the Wheelers?
Well have we got a blog post for you. :)

We had some fun moments happen in the month of February so far. The weekend before Valentine's day, we went to two dances in the same weekend. I haven't been to a dance since I was a young single adult over a year ago. We first went to our stake dance for young married adults on Friday. There was a chocolate fountain, karaoke, card decorating, and, of course, dancing. :) It was fun to hang out with my sister, her husband, and our friends in the ward. On Saturday, we went to a Valentine's dance for engaged and married couple at the BYU campus. We dressed up for the night and enjoyed ice cream cones, root beer floats, and eclairs. It reminded me of going to the YSA dances back in the day. It was fun to dance both nights away with my hubby. :)

On the eve of Valentine's day came my birthday! Yay!! :) Collin woke me up and told me to open my presents from him. I got a nice card along with the game Pit that I have been asking for. He also gave me $20 to spend on clothes. Since I was going to be home all day, he decided to send me on a shopping spree. :) I went to Plato's Closet and got these shirts for under $25.

I was so happy! They came in my top 3 favorite colors! :)

I decided to wear the mint green polka dot shirt for the rest of the day. We went to dinner at Panda Express since I was craving Chinese food.. After we got back, Collin invited people over to celebrate my birthday. It meant a lot to me to have family and friends come and spend time with me.

 All ready to PAR-TAY!!! :)

I still find it hard to believe I'm 25 now! It just hasn't sunk in yet...

The following day came Valentine's Day AKA Lover's Day. I woke up and started my Valentine's project for Collin. I made him a poster board message with candy bars on it. I saw people making those growing up and have always wanted to do one. I wrote him this message. He's already eaten all the candy. Haha.

I also gave him a spray cologne and body wash from Bath and Body Works. Now he can smell nice. :)

He told me in advance that my Valentine's present was to arrive at 11am by someone. In the mean time, he came home by 10:30am and gave me 12 valentines that he made up himself. They were so cute and funny. Here's one that's one of my favorites.

All you Whovians out there will recognize this..

It was a little after 11 when the person arrived. Collin told me to go in the other room and put headphones on so I can't hear. By the time the person left, Collin called my name several times, but I couldn't hear him because of the headphones. He knocked on the door and that's when I finally heard him. I came out and I saw in Collin's arms a little puppy!!! Collin decided to rent a puppy for me for a couple of hours. I was so happy that I almost cried. He was just so playful, adorable, and tiny. We found random things that he could play with. I would say he was having fun. I took a bunch of pictures of him.

 This is Nigel. :)

I fell in love with him instantly and wanted to keep him. He is just so lovable. :) Funny thing is that I have been telling Collin that I want a puppy and he granted me my wish. He came with a great idea to rent a puppy. It's great to have fun with the puppy for a few hours or see if you want to keep it as your own. We can't adopt a pet for a while, but we are definitely getting a puppy first when we do.

It comes to show that we need to show love not just on Valentine's day, but everyday of our lives. I love my husband so much!! He shows his love to me by doing things to make me happy. He is so full of surprises and I love it. :) I feel so blessed and lucky to be married to him.

Starting Off The New Year

After a memorable trip to Virginia, Collin and I moved back into our apartment to start a new semester in Provo. He is still at his junior year taking classes at BYU while working for BYU's OIT. I have been working at Sunrise Preschool. We also go to the same ward we did last fall. We love our ward. There are so many friendly people, and not to mention, my sister Kelsey and her husband Jordan are in our ward! I just got a new calling as being the primary first counselor. There are young married couples in our ward, and very few of them with children. The oldest one is probably about 16 months old. I felt very honored that I would be teaching this little girl about the gospel. It's exciting to know that she will be preparing herself for when she is old enough to feel the spirit in her life.

Wintertime is a cold, yet fun time in Utah. We have had a few snow days as you can see below.

Last month, I was reminded about how grateful I am to have my job. I have learned and grown so much, and most of all, I really like the people I work with. I had a few of my coworkers over for a game night at my apartment. We had fun playing getting to know you games and laughing out loud. Just last week, I got to go to my work appreciation banquet. Not only was the food delicious, but the company was splendid as well. We had fun just being ourselves and talking. It's moments like those that make me love my job even more. It really makes all the difference when you work at a job with people who are fun and outgoing. I have made some great friends from the last few months of working at Sunrise Preschool. :)

Last weekend, we got to watch the Super Bowl. Honestly, neither of us cared who won, but Collin and I thought that it would be funny to root for different teams. I rooted for the Broncos while Collin rooted for the Seahawks. Whoever's team lost had to do the dishes. As you can imagine from witnessing the game, I did the dishes... It was pretty funny.

I can't believe that Collin is now going through midterms! This year is already flying by! I can't wait to see what this February will bring!
